Discouragement
Every morning I wake up telling myself that it will be a good day, that I will have control over my food choices and my cravings and urges to eat. I have failed, or at least it feels that way. Every morning I step on the scale and my weight slowly creeps up. I feel like I am doing everything a normal, healthy person should be doing. I run, I count calories, I try to keep indulgences to a minimum (how harmful can a couple marshmallows be?). Clearly something isn't right. I am being very good about logging everything that goes in my mouth and hopefully next week I can get some answers from my doctors. I just feel so unhealthy and sloth-like. AHHHHHHH!

Beauty of the Lord
Wow, it's been a long time since I posted anything. Things have been busy around our house and mostly good.
I decided to get back on here and post again because my weight struggles have reared their ugly heads. I know that weight will never not be a struggle (did that make sense), but they were pretty well under control.
My thyroid levels have been off the last 2-3 months and I knew it right away when I was having a hard time maintaining my weight and I was EXHAUSTED! For a while I was extremely paranoid that I was pregnant. So, what I'm finding is that one weekend of endulgance means several weeks of strict dieting and extreme work outs. Its frustrating and exhausting, why can't I just eat like a normal person?
So, I'm hoping to get back on track with a more healthy lifestyle. Better eating habits and more regular work outs. In the meantime, I think that God is teaching me a lesson on thanksgiving (how fitting that Thanksgiving is just around the corner). I'm practicing having an attitude of praise and thanksgiving.
What are you thankful for this week? Today I'm thankful for my high school girl's small group. There's never a dull moment and they are full of joy and laughter.
